Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood


Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood was born on the 12 of September in the year 1961 in Karachi, Pakistan. He obtained his education from the Allama Iqbal University in Islamabad which is the current capital of Pakistan. By profession he is an Agriculturist who is well known in the politics of Pakistan. He has 4 children named Murtaza, Mustafa, Ali and Sakina.

He has been given the chance to contest in many general elections representing either the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz or the Pakistan Muslim League – Functional. A short time ago he was given the post of the Governor of Punjab by president Asif Ali Zardari. He was formally appointed as the Governor on 25 December 2012 after taking the oath. However he resigned on 13 May 2013 after the general elections of 2013 but was again given the duty as the president did not accept his resignation.

He was also nominated as the Punjab Excise and Taxation Minister from 1988 till 1990. Moreover he was also the PML-F Punjab division president from the year 2008 till late December 2012 when he was appointed Governor of Punjab.
