Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi


Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi was born on the 14th of February in the year 1954 in Jhal Magsi, which is a tribal village in Balochistan. His wife is Shama Parveen Magsi who is also a member of the Magsi clan.

Zulfiqar Ali Magsi is a senior and prominent member of the Pakistan People’s Party. He received his early education from the Aitchison Collage in the city of Lahore and later on went to the Punjab University.

He was theProvincial Minister for Education, Planning and Development in the year 1988 and had the post of Provincial Home Minister in 1990. He was also elected as the Chief Minister twice in his political career. First in May 1993 till 19 July 1993 and then from 20 October 1993 till early November 1996.

In 1997 he was again given the post for being a MPA. He again won a provincial seat in the general elections of 2008. However, he chose to become the provincial governor of Baluchistan and remained on the post till the announcement of general election of 2013.
