Hina Rabbani Khar was born on the 19 of November in the year 1977 in Multan. Her family is well known in the politics as her father, Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar, is a former politician and member of the National Assembly. Her uncle Mustafa Kharwas an ex Chief Minister and Governor of Punjab. She is married to Feroze Gulzar and has two daughters named Annaya and Dina respectively. Hina Rabbani Khar is also known for jointly owning the “Polo Lounge” a restaurant in Lahore and Islamabad.
She first studied at the Lahore University of Management Sciences from where she graduated with a BSc in Economics. Moreover she also went to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst from where she obtained her MSc in Business Management in the year 2002.
Hina Rabbani Khar became known in Pakistan through the support of Shaukat Aziz. In the General Elections of 2002, she was as a National Assembly member. At this time she was a member of the PML-Q. Then in 2007 she left the PML-Q as she was requested to join the Pakistan People’s Party, which she eventually did before the 2008 elections.
In the year 2004 she was given the post of Minister of State for Economic Affairs that she held till the year 2007. After the General elections of 2008 she was chosen to be the Minister of State for Economic Affairs again.
After Shah Mehmood Qureshi resigned from being the Foreign Minister, she was given this post. Thus she became the youngest and the first female to handle foreign relations of Pakistan.
